I’m going to start adding a “Read more” link to my blog posts. This will serve a few purposes:

  • More content will be available within a smaller area on the main page, also meaning that scrolling down will be easier.
  • I’ll be able to more effectively gauge the interests of my readers, since WordPress counts clicks for me. As it works now, I can only see how many people see the front page–I don’t know if they read the entire length of each blog every time, or if they see that it’s not what they want and then leave.

What does this mean for you? Once you’ve read the first hook of an entry, if it’s going to be a longer one, you’ll have to click on the “Read the rest of this entry” link. That’s if you follow the blog on the site. If you’re reading posts as RSS subscriptions or Facebook Notes, then you will probably have to follow the link to the blog site so that WordPress can add you to the stats.

Sorry if this infringes on your rights to privacy but (click here:) . . . I just gotta know!
